MDUSD's SOAR program at the Willow Creek Center in Concord is collecting clothing, school supplies, and other donations for vulnerable students, including foster youth and newcomers at Northgate High, ahead of the Thursday, Aug. 6 start of the 2026-27 school year.

Mount Diablo Unified's summer internship program placed 117 high school students — including Northgate High students from Walnut Creek — with 42 local employers, giving them hands-on career experience and two college credits through Diablo Valley College.

Thirty-seven Mt. Mt. Diablo Unified approved more than 20 administrator appointments for 2026-27, including new principals at six elementary schools, expanded wellness staffing, and a new athletic compliance officer position, while no leadership change has been announced at Northgate High School.
