Mt. Diablo Unified School District is asking students, families and staff to help shape the next three school-year calendars before an Oct. 30 survey deadline.
The district posted an online survey seeking feedback on calendars for the 2027-28, 2028-29 and 2029-30 school years. That covers scheduling for Walnut Creek families at Northgate High School and other MDUSD campuses through 2030.
The questionnaire is bilingual. The English-Spanish form invites comments about the three school calendars.
According to the survey, the district must build each calendar around 180 instructional days, balance those days as evenly as possible between semesters, account for student attendance patterns and periods of higher employee absences, and observe required federal and state holidays.
MDUSD, led by Superintendent Adam Clark, enrolled 29,371 students across at least 50 schools and programs during the 2025-26 school year, according to the district’s website.
The survey is available at mdusd.link/calendars and closes at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30.
