A reformer Pilates studio is opening on North California Boulevard in downtown Walnut Creek.
BODYROK Walnut Creek, at 1380 N. California Blvd., will hold its grand opening weekend Friday, Sept. 25, through Sunday, Sept. 27, with classes and special events, according to a company press release.
The studio is owned by Erika and Will Whalen, a husband and wife team who purchased their first BODYROK location in Petaluma in January 2021. Erika Whalen previously worked at Athleta before becoming a BODYROK instructor. Will Whalen is a former personal trainer and collegiate rower at UC Berkeley.
The couple has since built a growing portfolio of studios throughout the Bay Area and beyond, according to the press release. The Walnut Creek location is their latest.
"Walnut Creek is an exciting next step as we continue growing the BODYROK community throughout the Bay Area," Erika Whalen said in the press release.
BODYROK launched in 2012 and has grown to nearly 100 studios globally, according to the company. Each class runs 45 minutes on a custom reformer made in the USA.
The Walnut Creek studio's website lists seven class formats: Sculpt & Jump, Flow, Buns & Guns, Obliques & Cheeks, Six Packs & Backs, Power Sculpt and Rok Your Body.
Through Sept. 27, the studio is offering founding memberships at 20% off standard rates for life, according to the studio's Instagram account. Those founding prices range from $95.20 per month for four classes to $223.20 per month for unlimited classes. Standard BODYROK memberships at the nearby Alamo studio run $119 to $279 per month, for comparison.
The studio is also listing introductory offers for new visitors: a single class for $20, five classes for $99, two weeks of unlimited classes for $79 or a full unlimited month for $149.
