Walnut Creek's Design Review Commission won't meet on Wednesday, Aug. 5, after the city posted a cancellation notice citing no business to conduct.

The next session is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 19 at 6 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall, 1666 North Main St.

The cancellation marks at least the third time this year the commission has scrapped a regular meeting for lack of pending projects. The May 20 and June 3 sessions were also cancelled with identical language. The commission did convene on July 1 for a study session on a citywide sign ordinance update and on June 17 to review a proposed 172-unit apartment project at 1271 S. California Blvd.

The DRC meets biweekly on Wednesdays and reviews the design of proposed developments and sign applications. Meetings are streamed on the city's website. Residents needing accommodations should contact the City Clerk's office at (925) 943-5818 at least one day before the Aug. 19 meeting.
