Walnut Creek BART commuters catching the last Route 93X bus home will get 15 extra minutes starting Saturday, Aug. 9, when County Connection's revised schedule takes effect across several routes.
The final eastbound 93X trip from Walnut Creek BART to Antioch will depart at 7:05 p.m. instead of the current 6:50 p.m., according to the updated schedule the agency published Tuesday, July 14. The weekday express route runs along Kirker Pass between Walnut Creek and Antioch.
Under the current schedule, effective since June 7, that last bus reaches Antioch BART at 7:58 p.m. But the new PDF shows a dash in place of the Antioch BART arrival time, potentially meaning the last trip no longer reaches that station. County Connection has not responded to questions about the discrepancy. Riders who rely on that final Antioch BART connection should confirm their trip before Aug. 9.
This marks the second schedule revision for Route 93X in 2026. The route was also adjusted in the June 7 service change.
Ridership context
County Connection carried nearly 240,000 riders in March 2026, its strongest March since 2019 and a 5% jump over the prior year, according to agency ridership data. The system averages about 9,700 weekday riders.
According to the agency's July 14 service bulletin, the adjustments are meant to "better align with neighboring transit agency schedules and improve on-time performance."
Stop removals and other route changes
Routes 4, 7, and 16 also receive revised schedules on Aug. 9, and the 600-series school select service resumes ahead of the new school year.
Six bus stops are being eliminated to improve spacing:
- Stop 638, Grant Street/Bonifacio Street (northbound, Routes 15/17)
- Stop 1309, Morello Avenue/Pacheco Boulevard (northbound, Routes 18/316)
- Stop 1479, Gregory Lane/Helen/Brandon Road (westbound, Routes 16/18)
- Stop 1483, Gregory Lane/Rolling Green Circle (eastbound, Routes 16/18)
- Stop 1526, Pleasant Hill Road/Mangini Road (northbound, Routes 16/18)
- Stop 1531, Pleasant Hill Road/Linda Lane (southbound, Routes 16/18)
None of the removed stops are in Walnut Creek, but riders transferring to Routes 16 or 18 along Pleasant Hill Road and Gregory Lane should check whether their stop is affected.
