Chef Rodney Worth's Golden Pear restaurant has added a breakfast-and-coffee cart near Rossmoor's driving range. The cart gives residents a grab-and-go morning option three months after the main dining room opened at the Walnut Creek retirement community.

Worth announced Cindi's Coffee Cart on Instagram on Aug. 26.

The menu, listed on Rossmoor's official amenities page, includes breakfast sandwiches, bagels, muffins and cinnamon rolls. Drinks range from espresso and specialty lattes to hot chocolate, tea and orange juice. Less expected for a morning cart: beer, wine and Irish coffee also appear on the list. All food is available to go.

Rossmoor's listing shows the cart's hours as Tuesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon. The Golden Pear's own website shows conflicting closing times, with one heading reading 11 a.m. and the body text reading noon. Residents can call 925-278-1474 to confirm.

The Golden Pear opened for lunch and dinner on May 28 at the Creekside Clubhouse, 1010 Stanley Dollar Drive, replacing Creekside Bar & Grill, according to Rossmoor's opening notice. The main dining room serves sandwiches, salads, pasta and entrees daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with bar and patio seating.

Worth's restaurant group also operates The Peasant & The Pear in Danville and The Bourbon Pear in Livermore.
